Job Description: Must reside in OhioThis role seeks a licensed Site Civil Engineer to lead the technical design and execution of a wide range of site development projects for both private and public‑sector clients. You will take ownership of projects from concept through construction, providing technical oversight, performing detailed engineering work, and managing project delivery. Typical projects include site development and out‑parcels supporting retail, correctional facilities, ADA‑compliant trails and sidewalks, warehouse and industrial facilities, educational institutions, and other municipal and commercial improvements. This position is ideal for a technically strong civil engineer who enjoys combining hands‑on design with project management, client interaction, and mentoring responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesServe as the Engineer of Record, when applicable, and provide technical leadership on all site civil design deliverables.Develop and oversee site layouts, grading plans, drainage and stormwater management systems, water and sanitary utility designs, erosion and sediment control measures, and related site infrastructure.Perform and review engineering calculations, including hydrology and hydraulics, detention and retention basin sizing, storm sewer design, and earthwork analysis.Ensure all designs conform to local, state, and federal standards, including ADA requirements and applicable codes and regulations.Review plans, reports, and engineering calculations prepared by team members to verify technical accuracy, constructability, and completeness.Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior staff, supporting their professional growth and contributing to continuous improvement of design standards and templates.Maintain strong documentation practices and ensure all deliverables comply with established QA/QC procedures.Manage projects through the full lifecycle, including proposal support, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and project closeout.Lead client communication, track action items, manage deliverable schedules, and support change management processes throughout the project.Participate in and, when appropriate, lead design meetings, site walks, and coordination sessions with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.Support business development efforts by leveraging technical expertise and project experience to build and strengthen client relationships.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio.At least 8 years of relevant site civil engineering experience.Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design and plan production.Proficiency with HydroCAD for stormwater and drainage design.Demonstrated experience in site civil design, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and site development.Ability to manage projects effectively, including scope, schedule, and budget control.Strong client communication skills, with the ability to lead discussions and manage expectations.Ability and willingness to mentor staff and review work products for quality and accuracy.Solid understanding of applicable local, state, and federal standards, including ADA requirements.Strong documentation, organizational, and QA/QC skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience delivering site development projects for retail, correctional facilities, ADA trails and sidewalks, warehouse and industrial developments, educational facilities, and other municipal or commercial sites.Hands‑on experience with stormwater design and analysis, including detention and retention systems.Experience using Civil 3D for grading, corridor modeling, and utility design.Experience in hydrology and hydraulics, including storm sewer design and earthwork analysis.Experience in site civil engineering roles with responsibility for technical oversight and project delivery.Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment with distributed team members.Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.Job Type & LocationPermanent position based out of Columbus, OH.Pay and BenefitsPay range: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year.
